Naomi Coufal is a technical writer for Hillrom at Welch Allyn. Naomi has her Master’s Degree in English from SUNY Fredonia, and her experience as a technical writer includes working as a member of cross-functional research and development teams, supporting sustaining engineering projects, and helping to write and edit regulatory documentation. An energetic and lighthearted person, Naomi enjoys meeting and collaborating with other technical communication professionals and has been active in the STC CNY chapter since joining in 2018.
Bobbi Werner holds a BA in English and Television/Radio and an MA in English. She taught writing at Syracuse University for nearly 20 years and also developed a corporate training and technical writing business serving Niagara Mohawk, Lockheed Martin, New Venture Gear, United Healthcare, Philips Broadband, and several other corporations in the area. In 2000, these contract opportunities opened the door to full-time work as a writer. Bobbi joined Welch Allyn (now Hillrom Skaneateles) in 2008 and now works as Manager of the Technical Communication team. She is a leader in STC CNY and STC Rochester, as well as the international society, where she holds the rank of Associate Fellow.
Donna Tunguz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management & Marketing from Cornell University. She is currently a Technical Writer with Hillrom working on user instructions for medical equipment. Donna is excited to bring her past professional experience in IT and Legal to provide useful communications with complete and concise information. An outgoing introvert, Donna enjoys meeting and working with new people of all disciplines and cultures.
Roberta is a seasoned writer of 20+ years. Her experience includes writing user manuals for software, medical instruments, environment control systems, and converting machinery (machines used to manufacture plastic products like solar panel film, juice boxes, and sustainable biobased film). She was Senior Technical Writer at Davis Standard for 14 years and wrote manuals for the converting machinery they manufactured. During her tenure at Davis-Standard she created templates for the manuals written using MS Word software and used AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create illustrations. She worked with the Vice President of Safety Reliability to ensure the user manual safety documentation correlated with the Davis-Standard machinery safety, ISO, and ANSI standards. She has been a member of STC off and on since she was a college student. She recently renewed her membership to STC (CNY and Rochester chapters).firstname.lastname@example.org
Ariana went to school for art and social science before switching brain hemispheres and doing information technology in the Air Force. After taking TechComm courses online and at local schools, she joined the Society for Technical Communication and some chapters, earned CPTC™ status, and is now freelancing.
Sarah Rowe has a passion for increasing efficiency with information technology. She is a Senior Technical Writer with Hillrom. Her education includes an MS in Information Technology and a BA in Sociology. This combination helps Sarah help people communicate efficiently and effectively using technology. Sarah is an active leader with both the Rochester and Central NY chapters of the Society for Technical Communication and the Rochester WordPress Users Group. In 2018 she redesigned the CNY chapter website.
